        Saint Joan Holds Spring Investiture

Queretaro, Mexico was the site of our Spring Investiture. We visited Bernal Peak, the Third tallest monolith in the WORLD, spent a half day at Mexico’s newest Pyramid and participated in a rite to Mother Earth. Here we see Dame Azucena Jimenez and Chev. We tried many different Mexican delicacies and also visited the Convent where Maximilian spent a night before being executed. H. E. Chev. Colonel Wil Ebel, GCTJ was our Guest of Honor.

Inducted into the Order were: Chev. Luis G. Arredondo, Chev. Carlos Boker, Dame Julieta Diaz,  Chev. Cesar del Bosque, Dame Maria Esther Hernandez, Chev. Hector Liceaga,  Chev. Dario Rodriguez,  Chev. Armando Rosas, and Chev. Javier Santos.

Promoted to Grand Officer was Chev. Roger W. Loder;  to Knight Commander were:  Chev. William Dovali, Chev. Omar Mata, and Chev. Bernardo Rios.

Special Certificates were given to Chev. Jose Luis Contreras for his efforts in setting up Treasury procedures in his Commandery; Dame Marisol Rios for translating into Spanish our  Brussels Declaration;  Chev. Jorge Desigaud For setting up our web site; and Dame Edith Palomares for her efforts on the Templar Symposium that was held in Queretaro.

Bulgaria  was represented by Dame Herminia Georgieva, Dame Svetana Spasnova and Dimitar Gisov. They presented the Grand Priory an Invitation from Bulgaria to attend their upcoming Convent and Investiture. A beautiful Breast Insignia was presented to Chev. Alfred Michaud, Grand Prior of GP Saint Joan of Arc.

The Commandery Armadura de Dios (Mounted), under the Command of Chev. Oscar  Gonzalez, arrived in full regalia.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Chev. Colonel Carlos Ozaran, Prior in Argentina; announced the next scheduled Saint Joan of Arc Convent and Investiture will be in Cordoba, Argentina on 5-7 September 2008.

                         BRAZIL UPDATE

Your Grand Priory is pleased to announce that the Comandancia do Notre Dame do Brazil is being organized through the efforts of Brothers Roberto Ortiz and Diego Cardoso. We look forward to a special Investiture in Sao Paulo in early summer 2008. Dame Joan Boose  and Chev. William Dovali are in charge of this project.

                         KNIGHT’S DINNER

Our Annual Knight’s Dinner in Washington DC was held at the Army-Navy Club. Part of the agenda was the presentation of a “Golden Eagle” award to H. E. Chev. Colonel Wil Ebel (third from left) presented by Chev. Charles Fisher…shown here with H. E. Chev, Alfred Michaud, GP St. Joan of Arc, and H.

This award was made for Colonel Ebel’s outstanding work and support of the Army reserve Program.

                  STUDY PROGRAM

Knight Commander Omar Mata, Commander of the Commandery of Quetzalcoatl (Mexico City) has prepared a program for members, of our Order, to learn more about our History and Heraldry.  Brother Roberto Ortiz of Brazil is in the process of translating the program into the Portuguese language. This will enable all of our Latin American Templars the use of this program. A Diploma will be issued for successful completion of the Course.

                  NEW COMMANDERY

Knight Commander Bernardo Rios, Commander of the Commandery of Santiago Andamaxei, has requested this Grand Priory to establish the Commandery of San Sebastian of Leon, in the City of Leon, Mexico. Selection process to nominate the first Commander is in progress.

                  MAGISTERIAL COUNCIL

The OSMTH Magisterial Council will meet in Paris France from 10-12 April 2008. This will be a business-only meeting. Representing your Grand Priory are: Chev. Colonel John Hauschild;  Dame Lieutenant Colonel Joan Boose;

 Chev. Lieutenant Colonel William Dovali; and your Grand Prior, H. E. Chev. Colonel Alfred Michaud.

The next Magisterial Council Meeting is scheduled for ROME, Italy (Fiuggi) in November. The Grand Priory is working to have Argentina and Brazil represented at this meeting. This meeting may include a Convent and Investiture. This is an opportune time to meet your Brothers and Sisters from other Grand Priories, Priories and Commanderies. If you are interested in attending, please contact your Grand Prior, Grand Chancellor or Grand Inquisitor for more information.

                 MEMBERS IN SPECIAL NEEDS

Please keep the following members in your prayers:

H.E. Dr. John Luke, GCTJ; who is having severe internal health problems.

Chev. T. E. Mouritsen, KCTJ; who will lose the use of a leg (and foot) due to complication of injuries.

Chev. Jose Luis Contreras, OMJ, was assaulted and shot in the back in a public park in Mexico City.  He is still in intensive care.
